Description

Seismic assessments are not only required for buildings, but also increasingly for machines and equipment that are located in earthquake-prone areas. The standards that apply in such cases often permit different analysis type. Response spectrum method as the most widely used. Time history analyses via transient analyses has also become increasingly prevalent. Independent of the individual standards, this training describes the theoretical and practical foundations of these methods, explains their capabilities and limitations, and describes the implementation of the settings required by the standards in Ansys Mechanical.

This will help you to deepen your understanding of the modeling and settings prescribed/that need to be selected in the applicable standards and will allow more purposeful implementation in simulation with Ansys Mechanical. In addition, you will also learn which results can be assessed and how prescribed result superpositions need to be carried out. This training is aimed at computation engineers who need to create earthquake verifications in accordance with common standards. You should be familiar with structural mechanics simulation for deformation and stress analyses and have basic knowledge of structural mechanics. You will carry out practical exercises with Ansys.
