OVERVIEW
To introduce students and working professionals with Multi-Physics Simulation and innovative thinking, the Department of Science and Technology, under its National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber-Physical Systems has funded IIT Madras to host the Technology Innovation Hub (TIH) for Sensor, Networking, Actuators, and Control Systems (SNACS) area. To Host this TIH, IIT Madras has established IITM Pravartak Technologies Foundation. IIT Madras Pravartak Technologies Foundation will offer the ANSYS certificate programs in partnership with CADFEM India Pvt. Ltd. These ANSYS Certificate programs primarily aim to create a skilled workforce across India in areas relevant to the industry and global contribution to the fast development of disruptive technologies to address Industry 4.0 manpower needs. The program will provide an intensive online training program on emerging technologies which will include hands-on training using Ansys in the fields of engineering 5G - next-gen communication System and hybrid and electric vehicle (EV) engineering.

IIT-Madras Director
Dr. Kamakoti Veezhinathan took charge as the new Director of the Indian Institute of Technology Madras on 17th January 2022. Dr. Kamakoti is a faculty in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at IIT Madras and also held the position of Associate Dean for Industrial Consultancy and Sponsored Research (ICSR), IIT Madras. He holds numerous positions in various Government agencies and bodies including being a member of the National Security Advisory Board, Government of India. His area of research includes Software aspects of VLSI design, Cluster computing, High-performance computing, Computer Architecture, Data structures, Computational geometry Secure Systems Engineering.
Associate Professor
Dr. K Arul Prakash works as a Associate Professor, Department of Applied Mechanics Indian Institute of Technology Madras. He received his PhD from Department of Mechanical Engineering, IIT Kanpur in 2006. He received his M.E. (Specialization in Thermal Engineering) in 2001 from Bharathiar Unviversity and B.E. (Mechanical Engineering) in 1998 from Bharathiar University. His areas of Specialization include Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and Heat Transfer, Turbulent Flows, Thermal Hydraulics and Parallel Computing. His current research interests include FVM, FEM for CFD, Turbulence Modelling, LES and Realated Techniques, Fluid Flow and Heat Transfer Across Bluff Body.
Professor
Dr. Gandham Phanikumar works as a professor in the department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering at IIT Madras. His areas of specialization include Phase field modelling of solidification, Solidification of undercooled melts, Thermal field and distortion analysis, Laser based additive manufacturing, Integrated computational materials engineering. His research projects include Combined process and alloy design of a micro-alloyed DP-forging steel using integrated computational materials engineering, IGSTC, 2015-2018. He has received awards and recognition for SAFRAN -French Embassy special prize in 2008, Young Metallurgist of the year from the Ministry of Steel, Govt. of India in 2005, Research fellowship from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, Germany from 2003-2005.
Professor
Dr. Srikanthan works as an assistant professor in the Department of Engineering Design at IIT Madras since January 2020. He received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, under the supervision of Prof. Philip T Krein. He received his M.S. in Electrical Engineering from IIT Madras where he was guided by Prof. Mahesh Kumar. His undergraduate years were spent at College of Engineering Guindy, Anna University, Chennai. His research interests include Power electronic converters and machine drives for electrified vehicles (EV) and EV Battery modeling and characterization.
Professor
He is working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology Madras, Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Previously, he was a Research Fellow in the Aerodynamics and Flight Mechanics research group at the University of Southampton. His research focus was on developing embedded LES-RANS methodologies in compressible flows with applications to predicting flow around aircraft spoilers accurately and efficiently. At the University, He worked with Professor Richard Sandberg to develop these methods.

Associate Professor
Dr. Ratna Kumar Annabattula received his PhD from University of Groningen, The Netherlands in 2011. He received his B.E. from Andhra University and M.E. from Indian Institute of Science) in 2002 and 2004, respectively, both in Mechanical Engineering. He was as a postdoctoral researcher at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Germany for about two and half years before joining IIT Madras in December 2012. He was with G.E. India Technology Centre, Bangalore, India for 10 months as a Design Engineer during 2004-2005. His current research interests include mechanics of stimuli-responsive thin films, mechanics of granular materials for energy applications such as nuclear fusion, lithium-ion batteries and solar thermal energy and multiscale materials modeling.

Dr. Kavitha Arunachalam, works as a professor in the department of Engineering Design, Indian Institute of Technology Madras, Chennai. She has received her post-doctoral associate in 2010 from Hyperthermia Research Laboratory, Duke University Medical Centre and she has received her PhD. In 2007 from Non-destructive Evaluation Laboratory, Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering, Michigan State University and she has received her B.E. in 1998 from the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, College of Engineering, Guindy Anna University, Madras India.
Assistant Professor
Dr. Radha Krishna Ganti works as Assistant Professor in the department of Electrical Engineering, IIT Madras. His specialization include Communication Systems, Cellular Networks, Stochastic geometry, Information Theory, Full-duplex Radios. He has received the Junior Level Institute Research and Development Award.
Associate Professor
Dr. Krishna Vasudevan works as Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering Indian Institute of Technology, Madras. He has received his Ph.D. from Indian Institute of Technology, Madras. His expertise includes Sensor less operation of BLDC motor, Algorithm for fast extraction of harmonic information for active power filters, Parallel Operation of DC/DC Converters, Power Electronics for Wind and Photovoltaic Systems, Development of a sensor-head for remote sensing of conductive deposits.
Associate Professor
Dr. N. Lakshminarasamma works as Associate Professor in the department of Department of Electrical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology, Madras. Her specialization includes Power Electronics, Switched Mode Power converters, Renewable energy Applications. Her awards and recognitions include Serious Magdeep Award-2014, received by S.Niraja, PhD student for collaborative work at Arizona State University for reliability and testing standards, Innovative project Award-2014, for project on Design and Implementation of Solar Interface unit for DC and AC loads and many more. Her area of research includes Development of high-power step converter for Electric Vehicles, Defence Research and Development Organization, Development of Power Electronic Interface unit for low power and high-power loads and etc.

The program is a 200-hour Live online training program that provides aspirants with an in-depth understanding of products, processes and operations and prepares them to take on roles in the Electrification and 5G Simulation industies.
