Free surface fluid flows modeling has always been a challenge across multiple industries. In Rocky's latest release, a mesh-free, lagrangian approach for fluids was implemented using a Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH) solver. Powered by a computationally efficient GPU-and multi-GPU solver, it allows solving practical problems in engineering applications in which standard Eulerian grid-based solutions are usually followed by numerical diffusion and extremely long simulation times.

Benefits

This presentation will introduce the SPH method, how it works, and how we can apply it to solve a wide range of problems. We will also present how this capability can be extended even further by coupling this method with other Ansys solutions.
