Details

Aerodynamic analysis of innovative aircraft systems is an important research topic at the Chair of Aerodynamics and Fluid Mechanics at the Technical University of Munich. This presentation will feature two research projects that have been processed using ANSYS Fluent.

Benefits

The first part of the presentation examines the wake vortex system of a transport aircraft. The second part shows how emissions and noise levels in electric vertical take-off aircraft (Urban Air Mobility, UAM) can be reduced.

Target Group

  • Users
  • Decision makers
  • Generally interested persons
  • Designers

Agenda

  • Aerodynamic analysis of innovative aircraft systems
  • The development of the wake vortex system with a combined URANS / LES approach.
  • Reduction of CO2 and NOx emissions as well as noise levels in electrically powered vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) configurations.
  • Resolution of unsteady Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes equations (URANS).
  • Dissipation reduction with a scale-resolving turbulence model.
  • Flow field of an aero-acoustic analysis

Language

The language of the Webinar is German.
