Description
There is an increasing demand for process simulation in the field of forming and joining. How should the numerical models for these applications be created? What does implicit forming simulation with Ansys Mechanical have to offer in this area and what are the advantages compared to an explicit simulation approach? In addition to general questions of non-linear computation such as contact and analysis settings, this training addresses special topics such as material models, re-meshing and multi-step forming. The primary focus of the course is on relatively thick, cold-formed workpieces that enable simulation with volume elements. The area of hot-forming processes is addressed as an outlook topic.
The seminar aims to teach participants the best-practice approach for forming and joining simulations so that they can reliably and efficiently compute highly non-linear processes and learn about forming-specific options. Furthermore, participants learn about the influence that the forming process has on the finished part and can take manufacturing influences into account. The training is aimed at simulation engineers regularly or occasionally dealing with issues related to forming and joining simulation. In addition, it is also intended for those who work with formed and joined structures and who want to assess and take into account the influence of production processes during functional simulation.
