Verification of multi-bolted connections

Bolts are a popular design element. However, modeling bolts in detail would be very time-consuming and computationally intensive. This is why bolts are usually designed based on guidelines. For this, we can use VDI2230, which supports a numerical approach. With Bolt Assessment inside Ansys, this verification has been integrated into Ansys Workbench.

For complex geometries and / or loads, a purely analytical verification with appropriate accuracy is not possible. The FE method allows you to interactively take multiple bolts into account without having to make any assumptions.
