Numerical simulation can be used to determine the load and thus reliability for each configuration. However, this process is time-consuming and requires expert knowledge in calculation. What is desired instead is a simple and reliable solution.

This presentation will show a procedure for generating so-called heat maps with the aid of Ansys Mechanical and Ansys optiSLang, with which the degrees of utilization and maximum loads are determined for the most varied scenarios. In doing so, we not only take the structure into account, but also weld seams and bolted connections. For this purpose, we generate metamodels based on design calculations, which enable an evaluation of the fixture for any components in seconds.
