Models like the electronic control unit of an engine or a (electric) vehicle are solved using clusters containing hundreds of cores and terabytes of memory. Over the last decade, we have seen speedups of several orders of magnitude made possible by improvements in the computer hardware, the interconnects between the compute nodes and last but not least improved capabilities of the ANSYS software.
