Simulation of Induction Machines with Ansys Motor-CAD
Advanced training - knowledge of Motor-CAD required
In this training, you will learn how to use several approaches for the simulation of induction machines. This training is offered as a 1-day course.
Duration
1 day
Prerequisites
Knowledge of Ansys Motor-CAD
Software used
Motor-CAD
- Deepen theoretical knowledge of induction machines
- Analytical and numerical modeling of the induction machine
- Calculate and interpret operating points and characteristic diagrams
- NVH simulation of induction machines
Description
Induction machines are studied electromagnetically using various simulation approaches. In addition to an analytical approach, the numerical approach is also used to design this type of machine in practice. Both approaches are implemented in Motor-CAD.
In this training, you will learn the parameterization and the design of induction machines using both solution methods. You will also learn about the advantages and disadvantages of these simulation approaches and which approach is best suited for both time-efficient and accurate calculations for various scenarios. You will deepen your knowledge of the essential theoretical principles of induction machines. You will learn about the analytical model implemented in Ansys Motor-CAD and its limitations. You will also get to know the numerical 2D simulation with Motor-CAD for all problems that cannot be handled using the analytical model. Building on the single load point simulation, you will work on calculating torque-rpm diagrams. Finally, we present an NVH simulation of induction machines as an example of a multi-physical problem.
Previous knowledge of the simulation of synchronous machines with Motor-CAD is required for this training.
