Heat is generated in virtually all technical processes. For example, the integration density in modern electronic systems is so high that their performance is limited by cooling. Highly integrated batteries in electric vehicles also use operation-dependent cooling. The characteristics of electrical machines are also determined by heat loss. These effects can be determined in ANSYS Mechanical using a temperature field analysis. However, the key to correctly calculating the entire system is a system simulation that combines compact thermal models with mechanical, electrical, or fluidic components.
