Ansys best practice and advice for academic users

CADFEM advisory services for universities and the research sector

We consolidate our commitment to research and teaching under the CADFEM motto “simulation is more than software” in the CADFEM Academic initiative – a central contact point for lecturers, PhD candidates, students and researchers. In addition to personal contact, we also offer events specifically tailored to research and teaching needs.

Summer school for PhD candidates

PhD students deepen their knowledge of the simulation of electromagnetic and coupled phenomena at the University of Wuppertal. Since 2008, the annual event of the University of Wuppertal and CADFEM has been very popular in professional circles.

Scientific knowledge

Potential formulation for electromagnetic fields and system models

Simulation practice

Realization of field problems as well as field and system coupling in Ansys

Professional dialog

Presentation and technical discussion of the research topics of all participants

What university customers are saying

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Wilhelm Rust
Professor of Simulation in Mechanical Engineering, Hanover University of Applied Sciences

ANSYS offers the possibility of subsequent parameterization of CAD geometries and control variables. In the ‘Structural mechanics: basic examples with ANSYS Workbench’ lecturer workshop, I show tasks and sample solutions with which we carry out parametric studies and mathematical optimization in teaching.

Matthias Kowalski
Development engineer, Siemens AG

The Electromagnetic Simulation summer school is the perfect way for PhD candidates to learn how to use ANSYS software at a high level based on collaborative case studies. The discussion of different simulation approaches and methods for my dissertation topic with Dr. Hanke and other doctoral students was invaluable to me.

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Thomas Binder
Program director for Mechanical Engineering, Ingolstadt University of Applied Sciences

At the Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt, every student can learn how to use Ansys. We have very good experience with this in teaching as well as the technical support from CADFEM and are happy to recommend subsequent specialization courses.
