Ansys ACADEMIC SIMULATION SOFTWARE

From School to University
Instructors have to convey scientific knowledge and practical skills for the occupations of the future in equal measure. Using modern Ansys simulation tools, you can direct the focus of teaching to imparting skills such as understanding modeling or evaluating results.

Customized Packages for any educational institution

There are Ansys products for teaching as well. Configured for suitable exercises, you can use all functionalities of the tool in the classroom. What would you like to do? Visualize physics in the classroom? Supplement your FEM internship with practical tutorials? The choice is yours – and you’ll receive appropriate exercise materials in the CADFEM instructor workshop.

For all questions an answer

High-end applications (not only) for sophisticated simulation

Students, academics and scientists all over the world rely on the broad Ansys portfolio for acoustics, optics, electronics and electromagnetics, (non-)linear FEM, DEM, implicit and explicit dynamics, multi-body simulation, fluid mechanics, topology optimization and system simulation.

Additional Support by CADFEM

CADFEM offers a comprehensive range of consulting services for research and teaching. As a central point of contact for lecturers, doctoral students, students and researchers, you will find the right contact for questions concerning the use of Ansys for your simulation here. In addition to personal contact, we offer events specially tailored to the needs of research and teaching.

ANSYS simulations offer students an excellent opportunity to make the invisible electromagnetic fields visible and understand the interaction between electromagnetics and thermal in electrothermal processes.

At the Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt, every student can learn how to use Ansys. We have very good experience with this in teaching as well as the technical support from CADFEM and are happy to recommend subsequent specialization courses.

Frequently asked questions on Ansys ACADEMIC SOFTWARE for teaching

Below you will find relevant information and assistance that is frequently requested. Do you have any further questions, suggestions or requests? Then feel free to contact us.

Do the Teaching licenses have a node limit?

Yes, the licenses for teaching do indeed have a limit on the number of nodes or elements. The limit was set at a level so that no restrictions occur for regular exercise activities. At the same time, schools and universities of applied sciences benefit from superb value for money.

Can students also use the license for homework on their personal laptops?

The standard scenario at many universities is the PC pool, which is opened to students for self-study as well. Some universities offer their students the option of working via a VPN. If that is not possible at your university, we recommend that students install the free Ansys Student version for homework and self-study.

Can Teaching licenses also be used to complete bachelor’s and master’s theses?

For use in the context of student final theses, the limits would pose too much of an obstacle. A Research license would generally be the first choice in such a case.

Can you recommend good sources for FEM tutorials and CFD tutorials or suggestions for creating teaching materials?

Simulation is important to CADFEM, so to enable you to invest as much time as possible in educating your students, we support you with instructor workshops and other attractive advisory and training options in the area of teaching.

Our university’s computer center has an Ansys Multiphysics Campus license. What licenses are included in that?

With the Ansys Multiphysics Campus license, your university can use an agreed number of Research licenses as well as 10 times the number of Teaching licenses for teaching. So you and your students can use the complete Ansys software portfolio.
