The digital twin

Extend the use of simulation to assess the real-time operation of products and systems

Webinar

Details

During the development of products and production processes, physical simulation is a proven method for gaining a better understanding of influencing factors, design alternatives and product properties. Due to increasing digitization and networking, knowledge gained in this manner can be used for practical application while operating the respective product.

A simulation model that is fed with real sensor data from the practical application and is automatically calculated provides more far-reaching information about the product behavior as selective sensor data. This digital copy, known as the digital twin, supports predictive, condition-based maintenance, analysis and optimization of operating states, as well as the further development of products based on real load data and big data analyses.

This webinar will demonstrate the advantages of the digital twin as well as its implementation using an example. It will present the connection between the physical product in use and the simulation model via an IoT platform as well as the procedure for integrating the physical simulation models with control systems and embedded software.
