With Tribo-X inside Ansys, CADFEM and Tribo Technologies have developed a solution that enables convenient and efficient calculation of hydrodynamic radial bearings in Ansys Workbench. In this training course, you will learn which properties significantly determine the operating behavior of a radial bearing and what role is played by elastic deformations, deviations in shape and position, as well as thermal effects. In addition, you will gain knowledge on how the mixed friction state of a bearing can be evaluated. Through an operating-point-dependent determination of bearing coefficients, you will be able to better understand the vibration behavior of plain bearing shafts. A parameterization of the bearing model allows you to make a holistic optimization of the shaft-bearing housing system for the respective application.

The training course is aimed at all those interested in the great potential of virtual product development and who would like to design and analyze state-of-the-art hydrodynamic radial bearings. Building upon your knowledge of lubricated bearings and will explore the possibilities of an efficient and damage-free design of bearings.

In this course, you will learn how to use Tribo-X inside Ansys based on practical example exercises. In addition to the software operation, you will gain an insight into which properties significantly influence the operating behavior of the bearing and how you can avoid bearing damage by correctly designing the bearing. The key points:

  • Become familiar with important influencing variables on the operating behavior of bearings
  • Efficient workflow for the optimization of bearings with and without mixed friction
  • Practical exercises on the simulation of bearings with Tribo-X inside Ansys
  • “Tribo-X inside Ansys” license free of charge for 3 months
