Implement CAD and simulation in a student friendly way

Testing a digital prototype in a virtual wind tunnel. Complicated? No, it’s child’s play.

Implement CAD, modeling and simulation projects in a student friendly way

Are you involved in STEM teaching at school, in a youth or students’ research center or a student lab? Then Computer Aided Design (CAD) and 3D simulation tools are the perfect way to help young people discover the fun of technology, physics, mathematics and computer sciences.

We show you our simulation world

CADFEM is joining the Girls' Day Digital event on April 27, 2023, where an exciting and varied program awaits you!

How does simulation fit into teaching?

Digital models are created with CAD, either from existing objects or from design ideas. Using the engineering simulation techniques, models can be tested in different scenarios and variants can be compared. And this is where physics comes into play. Most of the time it's about finding out how much force is applied, whether everything withstands material savings or how the drag force can be reduced.

There are simulation tasks that are so complex that even experts need a certain amount of time to find particularly good solutions. But many applications can be carried out without any prior knowledge: Simple tools and smart task selection make CAD, modeling and simulation the perfect digital solutions for many STEM subjects. To ensure quick success, we offer you support at the start.

Affiliate program for school and after-school education

The partner program is aimed particularly at vocational and technical schools, general schools, student labs and students’ and youth research centers. Heads of vocational training are also welcome.

Hardware and Software

To use CAD and simulation, you need the appropriate hardware and software. We can clarify whether your technical set-up meets the necessary requirements.

If you are planning to expand your resources in the course of a digital offensive, CADFEM gives advice on suitable hardware and supports you in license procurement for the relevant simulation software.

First steps and Tutorials

For your first steps in simulation, we recommend the right tutorials for self-study, organize participation in a seminar and accompany you through your first steps.

To begin with, you receive access to training and examples, so that you can quickly get started with your first students. As soon as you have familiarized yourself with these, you will be able to put your own ideas into practice.

Achieve more together

Have you already carried out fascinating simulation projects with young people? Are you looking for some new ideas? Then join our network!

If requested we can connect our STEM partners and ambassadors for simulation with each other, creating opportunities for new collaborations. Because together we can achieve more.

What teachers are saying

Wolfgang Guggenberger
Mentor in physics, Humboldt-Gymnasium Vaterstetten

I lead a project seminar called ‘Formula 1 at school’ for students in the 11th and 12th grades. ANSYS Discovery gives young people the ability to independently test and improve their vehicle designs with aerodynamic simulation. During school holidays, they succeeded in reducing the aerodynamic resistance of the model by around a third.

Selected STEM affiliate projects

Ansys for students

The leading simulation software is now also available as a free student version. Suitable for use at school, school competitions, and self-study.

Become an ambassador for simulation

Do you love your job as a specialist in simulation or CAD design?
Do you enjoy working with technology in your everyday environment?
Can you imagine showing young people how physics can be visualized through simulation?

Then share your enthusiasm. Whether at your children’s school or in STEM campaigns for youth development at your company: the larger the network, the more we can achieve together. We are happy to provide you with ideas and initial examples for implementation. Because simulation can be very simple.

Sponsoring member of MINT Zukunft e.V.

The association MINT Zukunft e.V. has committed to demonstrating to girls and boys the different perspectives in natural and computer sciences, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) at a young age. As part of its social commitment, CADFEM therefore supports students in gaining early, multifaceted insights into the exciting world of simulation and in considering a professional future in the technical environment.

The right solutions for your simulation projects

Simulation is everywhere and affects every industry. Since simulation requires more than software, CADFEM offers everything you need for successful simulation from a single source: software and IT solutions, consulting, support, engineering and knowledge sharing – always on the cutting edge.
